Armenia’s FX market on September 29: Central Bank summary
Armenian banks and credit organisations bought about $49.4 million and sold more than $62.3 million on September 29.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the weighted average dollar buying rate was AMD 362.37 and the selling rate AMD 364.00. On the interbank* market, $3 million was bought and sold at an average rate of AMD 363.04.
Euro transactions totalled about €11.7 million in purchases and €19.1 million in sales. The average buying rate was AMD 410.28 and the selling rate AMD 416.40. There were no interbank euro transactions.
On the same day, about 1.94 billion roubles were bought at an average rate of AMD 4.21, and 868.2 million roubles were sold at AMD 4.32. On the interbank market, 500 million roubles were bought and sold at AMD 4.28.
Purchases of other currencies totalled AMD 157.2 million (about $433,000) in dram terms, and sales AMD 1.64 billion.
In-house purchase transactions of banks and credit organisations totalled AMD 31.01 billion, and sales AMD 36.03 billion. Interbank purchases and sales amounted to AMD 3.23 billion.
Foreign currency bought by credit organisations totalled AMD 919.2 million in dram terms, and currency sold AMD 1.01 billion.
Intrabank and interbank transactions, September 15–29
Banks and credit organisations. There were no interbank euro transactions.
From September 14 to 20, exchange offices bought $17.9 million and sold $19.8 million. The average dollar buying rate ranged from AMD 360.44 to 361.26, and the selling rate from AMD 363.13 to 363.78.
Euro transactions totalled €4.69 million in purchases and €4.49 million in sales. The average selling rate ranged from AMD 418.25 to 420.26.
Over the week, exchange offices bought 1.16 billion Russian roubles and sold 555 million roubles. The rouble ranged between AMD 4.08 and 4.17.
Transactions in other currencies totalled AMD 291.7 million in purchases and AMD 288.9 million in sales in dram terms.
