Armenia’s FX market on September 30: Central Bank summary
Armenian banks and credit organisations bought about $42.9 million and sold about $48.9 million on September 30.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the weighted average dollar buying rate was AMD 361.84 and the selling rate AMD 363.84. On the interbank* market, $8 million was bought and sold at an average rate of AMD 362.70.
Euro transactions totalled about €18.7 million in purchases and €11.2 million in sales. The average buying rate was AMD 409.52 and the selling rate AMD 415.28. There were no interbank euro transactions.
On the same day, about 2.01 billion roubles were bought at an average rate of AMD 4.23, and 452 million roubles were sold at AMD 4.34. On the interbank market, 100 million roubles were bought and sold at AMD 4.30.
Purchases of other currencies totalled AMD 1.28 billion (about $3.5 million) in dram terms, and sales AMD 549.3 million.
In-house purchase transactions of banks and credit organisations totalled AMD 32.99 billion, and sales AMD 24.96 billion. Interbank purchases amounted to AMD 3.39 billion and sales to AMD 3.33 billion.
Foreign currency bought by credit organisations totalled AMD 876.2 million in dram terms, and currency sold AMD 818.8 million.
Intrabank and interbank transactions, September 16–30
Banks and credit organisations. There were no interbank euro transactions.
From September 14 to 20, exchange offices bought $17.9 million and sold $19.8 million. The average dollar buying rate ranged from AMD 360.44 to 361.26, and the selling rate from AMD 363.13 to 363.78.
Euro transactions totalled €4.69 million in purchases and €4.49 million in sales. The average selling rate ranged from AMD 418.25 to 420.26.
Over the week, exchange offices bought 1.16 billion Russian roubles and sold 555 million roubles. The rouble ranged between AMD 4.08 and 4.17.
Transactions in other currencies totalled AMD 291.7 million in purchases and AMD 288.9 million in sales in dram terms.
