Armenia’s FX market on September 28: Central Bank summary
Armenian banks and credit organisations bought more than $50 million and sold about $37.2 million on September 28.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the weighted average dollar buying rate was AMD 362.10 and the selling rate AMD 364.19. On the interbank* market, $3 million was bought and sold at an average rate of AMD 363.31.
Euro transactions totalled about €25.4 million in purchases and €20.7 million in sales. The average buying rate was AMD 411.23 and the selling rate AMD 416.22. There were no interbank euro transactions.
On the same day, about 1.83 billion roubles were bought at an average rate of AMD 4.20, and 642.1 million roubles were sold at AMD 4.33. On the interbank market, 450 million roubles were bought and sold at AMD 4.30.
Purchases of other currencies totalled AMD 1.22 billion (about $3.4 million) in dram terms, and sales AMD 269.6 million.
In-house purchase transactions of banks and credit organisations totalled AMD 37.45 billion, and sales AMD 25.21 billion. Interbank purchases and sales amounted to AMD 3.02 billion.
Foreign currency bought by credit organisations totalled AMD 1.98 billion in dram terms, and currency sold AMD 1.85 billion.
Intrabank and interbank transactions, September 14–28
Banks and credit organisations. There were no interbank euro transactions.
From September 14 to 20, exchange offices bought $17.9 million and sold $19.8 million. The average dollar buying rate ranged from AMD 360.44 to 361.26, and the selling rate from AMD 363.13 to 363.78.
Euro transactions totalled €4.69 million in purchases and €4.49 million in sales. The average selling rate ranged from AMD 418.25 to 420.26.
Over the week, exchange offices bought 1.16 billion Russian roubles and sold 555 million roubles. The rouble ranged between AMD 4.08 and 4.17.
Transactions in other currencies totalled AMD 291.7 million in purchases and AMD 288.9 million in sales in dram terms.
