Armenia’s FX market on October 13: Central Bank summary
Armenian banks and credit organisations bought about $30.6 million and sold about $43.2 million on October 13.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the weighted average dollar buying rate was AMD 360.71 and the selling rate AMD 362.66. On the interbank* market, $4 million was bought and sold at AMD 362.
Euro transactions totalled about €8.25 million in purchases and €11.22 million in sales. The average buying rate was AMD 401.48 and the selling rate AMD 408.94. There were no euro transactions on the interbank market.
On the same day, about 1.69 billion roubles were bought at an average rate of AMD 4.22, and 630.2 million roubles were sold at AMD 4.33. On the interbank market, 550 million roubles were bought and sold at AMD 4.31.
Purchases of other currencies totalled AMD 210.4 million (about $581,500) in dram terms, and sales AMD 1.56 billion.
In-house purchase transactions of banks and credit organisations totalled AMD 21.67 billion, and sales AMD 24.53 billion. Interbank purchases and sales each amounted to AMD 3.82 billion.
Foreign currency bought by credit organisations totalled AMD 939.7 million in dram terms, and currency sold AMD 1.15 billion.
Intrabank and interbank transactions, September 30 to October 13
Banks and credit organisations. There were no interbank dollar transactions on October 5, 6, 8, 9 and 12, and no interbank rouble transactions on October 6. Interbank euro transactions took place on October 6 (purchases and sales), October 7 (sales only) and October 8 (purchases only).
From September 28 to October 4, exchange offices bought $17.4 million and sold $19.5 million. The average dollar buying rate ranged from AMD 359.88 to 360.85, and the selling rate from AMD 362.45 to 362.92.
Euro transactions totalled €4.52 million in purchases and €4.95 million in sales. The average selling rate ranged from AMD 408.29 to 412.94.
Over the week, exchange offices bought 1.07 billion Russian roubles and sold 640 million roubles. The rouble ranged between AMD 4.06 and 4.14.
Transactions in other currencies totalled AMD 233.7 million in purchases and AMD 226.3 million in sales in dram terms.
