Armenia’s HGH Agro Drones treats over 200 hectares of farmland with nine drones this year

HGH Agro Drones, an Armenian company providing drone spraying services, entered the agricultural services market this year and has treated more than 200 hectares of fields with its nine drones. The figure excludes greenhouses and work carried out for the state. Harutyun Harutyunyan, director of HGH Agro Drones, said this in an interview with BusinessDaily.

Before that, according to him, the company sprayed 9 thousand hectares of forest in Armenia last year and then moved into agricultural work. “We have probably done the most in Armenia in terms of hectares,” Harutyunyan noted.

A farm can order the service without buying equipment, and the company sends as many drones as the job requires. “We have 9 of these drones so that we can do the work faster. Depending on the request and the area, we send as many drones as needed to complete the work as quickly as possible,” he explained. The cost of the service was not discussed in the interview.

Besides treating fields, the company offers whitewashing of greenhouse roofs and their later washing, when sunlight needs to be let back in. “There is growth, every year there is growth, because every year people learn that it is possible to do, for example, whitewashing of greenhouse roofs, and then washing them,” Harutyunyan stressed. According to him, the company visits clients, explains the service, and the volume of work grows year after year “because people learn that this service can be done with these drones.”

The company’s director explained that the business idea came after a visit to an exhibition abroad: “We went to an exhibition in another country, saw it, liked it a lot, and started doing this.” Harutyunyan is an economist by training.
