Armenia’s FX market on October 2: Central Bank summary
Armenian banks and credit organisations bought about $75.3 million and sold about $26.9 million on October 2.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the weighted average dollar buying rate was AMD 361.59 and the selling rate AMD 363.74. On the interbank* market, $8 million was bought and sold at an average rate of AMD 362.43.
Euro transactions totalled about €10.5 million in purchases and €10.1 million in sales. The average buying rate was AMD 406.71 and the selling rate AMD 413.14. There were no interbank euro transactions.
On the same day, about 1.68 billion roubles were bought at an average rate of AMD 4.25, and 589 million roubles were sold at AMD 4.37. On the interbank market, 600 million roubles were bought and sold at AMD 4.33.
Purchases of other currencies totalled AMD 388.8 million (about $1.07 million) in dram terms, and sales AMD 174.1 million.
In-house purchase transactions of banks and credit organisations totalled AMD 39.06 billion, and sales AMD 16.71 billion. Interbank purchases and sales each amounted to AMD 5.5 billion.
Foreign currency bought by credit organisations totalled AMD 948 million in dram terms, and currency sold AMD 965.5 million.
Intrabank and interbank transactions, September 18 to October 2
Banks and credit organisations. There were no interbank euro transactions.
From September 21 to 27, exchange offices bought $17.0 million and sold $18.8 million. The average dollar buying rate ranged from AMD 360.25 to 361.23, and the selling rate from AMD 362.92 to 363.55.
Euro transactions totalled €4.49 million in purchases and €4.78 million in sales. The average selling rate ranged from AMD 412.88 to 417.19.
Over the week, exchange offices bought 986 million Russian roubles and sold 593 million roubles. The rouble ranged between AMD 4.02 and 4.14.
Transactions in other currencies totalled AMD 232.7 million in purchases and AMD 221.4 million in sales in dram terms.
