Armenia’s economic activity grows 7.3% in January–August 2026
According to preliminary data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia, the economic activity index rose by 7.3% year on year in January–August 2026. In August, the index was up 5.2% on August 2025 and 4.5% on July.
Construction grew fastest. In January–August, construction output reached AMD 471.6 billion (about $1.27 billion), up 24.7%. In August, it amounted to AMD 102.4 billion (+23.8%).
Services (excluding trade) totalled AMD 3.03 trillion over the eight months, up 12.8%. In August, services reached AMD 420.5 billion (+11.4%).
Industrial output in January–August amounted to AMD 2.07 trillion (+7.4%). In August, it fell by 4.3% to AMD 277.4 billion.
Trade turnover totalled AMD 4.39 trillion over the eight months, up 0.7%. In August, it reached AMD 620.1 billion (+0.1%).
Electricity generation in January–August amounted to 6,268.4 million kWh (+5.3%), and 819.7 million kWh in August (−4%). The figure excludes electricity generated by autonomous producers under net metering.
Gross agricultural output data are not included in the preliminary summary.
